$170 at Sears. I'm guessing $149 will happen for sure.

And the cheapest BR is still $400

You'd be crazy to not go neutral with this deal.

Holy crap, the A3!?!?!?!

At that price I thought for sure it would be an A2, which still would have been a great deal, but dang 3rd gen for $169.

And you get the 2 free movies packed-in, omg!

just to let you know sears will refund price difference, but also if you pay cash they will probly make you wait for check to be mailed to you especially on that day it wouldnt surprise me. I work at a sears and just to let you know nothing has been confirmed as definite. As soon as I get a straight answer i will let you know.

Hey theone2 where did you find that pic??

I assume by the flyer this is the Tosh A30 model(NOT the A3 as flyer says). Tosh A20 IS 1080P capable( which CC is selling for $160-175 with coupon). The Tosh A30 is also 1080P capable.

OK, so I'm confused -- Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving, right? Which means this advertisement is for a sale a month out, right? When did advertising start THIS early?

Actually we are not supposed to see this. These ads are leaked out ...
The suits don't like it because they know that we will not purchase the A3 now, since we know it will be $169 in a month.

Black friday is widely seen as one of the most important days of the year for any retail corporation. Every item you see in black friday sales are carefully chosen and priced after a great deal of research, meetings, etc. The ads are planned for months. The ads you see are stolen from these planning meetings. They are supposed to come out in the HUGE thanksgiving paper. I used to sub papers as a kid, half of that damn paper is ads! Sometimes they change slightly from the leaks though, as they constantly evolve. These companies want to kick off the holiday sales season to as strong a start as possible, luring shoppers in to there stores with some great, loss-making sales, hoping to get them to purchase other items and just get it in their head that that particular store would be a great place to shop that holiday.

Black Friday is referred as such not for the the spectacle that is any store on that day due to throngs of shoppers, but for the day that these companies return to the black on their bottom lines, after a long year of struggling with that bottom line. Some stores do up to 3/4 of all their yearly sales in these next few short months.

Not bad. The A3, too. And Sears is normally the quintessential ripoff store. I wonder what sort of deals will be available at stores better known for actually reasonable prices.

Wow. We never get deals like that in Australia. AU$200 for an HD DVD player is absolutely ridiculous I know a couple of people who would bite now if that were offered here.

these ads are printed up sometimes as much as 12 weeks in advance. This one was leaked, I'm sure it's not due out until the week before thanksgiving.

I would expect this to be one of those deals where you have to kill someone and steal their A2 to drive home with one, there probably won't be very many.

If Wal Mart does a deal on the A2's for black friday we'll probably be looking at 149.00 or so, but those won't last long either as the lines outside Wal Mart often start the night before.

The problem with Sears is this: They only order a few units per store and they do not normally replenish their stocks. Same kind of stuff happened when they dropped the Samsung BD-P1200 (BD player) to $399, when that player was $450 plus even at Amazon. Those Sears stores in the more affluent neighborhoods do sell out faster than those in the less affluent ones.

Remember this: with Sears, "only early birds get the worm". Plus expect their units to be from the very early batch and a FW update is always a must first thing, with any Sears sold BD/HD-DVD players.

Umm, how old can they possibly be? The A3 just came out, and at most there might be one firmware update available.

I went and bought the A3 from Best Buy today. I'm a Black Friday veteran, and have done this many many times before, but I plan on waltzing into Best Buy around 9-10am that day, walking up to customer services (which should have very little, if any line), and getting $130 + 10% of the difference credited back to my credit card with their price match policy. YMMV, but the Best Buy's in my area have always been very good at pricematching other store's Black Friday deals, even if it's an early bird type of special like this one is.

That's great! Unfortunately, most BB's won't match Black Friday deals.

Good idea, but one flaw..... doesn't the price match deal rely on the fact that the store that is getting matched have the units in stock? What if they are out of stock? Would they still match it if it's no longer in stock?
