Vizio VP605F - 60" Plasma

Silicon Optix HQV processing, 1080p resolution, an integrated ATSC / Clear-QAM tuner, 30,000:1 contrast ratio and four HDMI 1.3 inputs.

For $2,899.

No wonder lots of manufacturers got out of RPTV.

I am looking forward to a pro review on this display. I think that Vizio may have some reliability problems solved with this new generation. Some of the technical aspects bode very well for the 1080p lineup. I wonder when we'll actually see them at Costco.

This is very good for consumers. I hope the new generation of Vizio is more reliable than the last, and they fixed all the bugs. I'm looking forward to hearing reviews! I was considering the 65" Panasonic, but at this price I'm going to give Vizio serious consideration as an upgrade over my 50" Panasonic. There are 65" 1080p's hitting the market and the cost is not out of this world (under 4k for a lcd). Now we have under 3K for a 60" plasma. Nice!

Yes this is good to revitalize their reputation on their larger screens. Although it states 30,000:1 contrast ratio, this is going to be marketing number for this years flat panels. Black levels should be fairly deep. However, lets hope for better QC problems that are in check.

Is this out yet or the 50" and do they do 1080/24p?

They're scheduled to release in June.

I asked a Vizio person about the 24fps and he could not give me an answer at that time, but more details would be released in the future.

Cool Ditto -Where is it?

Vizio VP605F - 60" Plasma
Same question.

First person to see this in the wild (Costco, Sam's Club, Best Buy, etc) deserves a high five!!!

Rumors in the other Vizio thread said the 60" won't be out until the holidays.
