If you read the thread, they said it does not work on an A35. I'm still patiently waiting.

You are right. I see that it has only been installed on EP35s so far after reading through that thread. One thing that I noticed about the firmware. The 1.3 A35/EP35 firmware says HDA35KTU and this says HDEP35KTE.
EDIT: From what I read there. Some guy called Eny- updated with it but is still NTSC only and can't do PAL because he didn't roll it back to 1.3 before he installed the region free firmware? Not too much details there to tell what's going on. And people are talking about hex editing it so they can try to crossflash their EP30s with the EP35 firmware. EDIT Part 2: Looks like it might only work on a EP35 and not a A35 after reading this post? I remember reading about a fellow called Spong2 having the same problem with the region free EP30 firmware on his A30 here. Last edited by N8YWF; 10-08-08 at 05:53 PM.. |

http://tacp.toshiba.com/tacpassets-i...-A35-1100U.zip You can always try and see if it makes your player PAL capable. Link to the famous video of hddvduser: http://uploaded.to/?id=6ixq94 |

Please note: ** It worked for me, but I can't guarantee it will work for everyone and I'm not responsible for bricked player **
Just finished and yep it's working! I did not do many tests yet, but PAL disks work! Also, I see in the setup menu 480/576, which is good. I did follow the steps carefully. The only thing I need to add is that I tried the previous hack firmware which did nothing, in fact (I guess). So I started from there, which was version 1.3 (hacked) Then after the entire procedure, I installed the original USA 4.0 version. I suggest you use the original remote. Also when you don't see anything on the TV, just pay attention to the "beep" it does when using the remote. It will make it easier to click "right arrow" then "ok" Good luck! Pitou! It doesn't matter which firmware version you are currently on, it will run anyhow. If you now press Display, 1, 9, 5, Display on your remote, you will see that the Machine Code is HDEP35KTE. This means that your player is now effectively an EP35.
Just one thing to be aware of. The HD-EP35 has PAL as default video system. So if your TV or Projector does not handle PAL, then don't use this hack. |

Pitou i updated with the E35 4.0 at the end and i have no problems with my PAL region 4 or region 2 dvd's being upscaled to 1080p
PS.You need to go into the pic menu to select 1080p as it is reset to 1080i after the upgrade but after that its all sweet. Last edited by wheelz_au; 11-17-08 at 12:31 AM.. |
