I'm having trouble finding the best settings for this new TV (52W3000). On my old Panny 50" RP LCD, I found that setting the 8300 to 1080i output only gave the best results, especially for SD. My problem now is that I am finding the same with the new set. I would have thought the newer technology in this 1080P set would produce a better SD picture than what the older SA8300HD would. I've set the SA8300HD to both 480i and 1080i then in settings have tried fixed, pass-through, upconvert 1 and upconvert 2. The 480i on fixed doesn't look as good as on upconvert 2. As the HD image is fantastic, I don't want to play around with the picture settings with the TV. I am using component for now as HDMI was even worse.
Am I missing something here or is this what others are finding too?
