To answer your question, I do not use Verizon provided HDMI cables. I had my Olevia firmware updated on Saturday and had not a single freeze since, considering that the box used to freeze several times a day I would say the problem is fixed. As far as what Dynomite is saying I know that menu and I have played with those settings. By changing to 480p, which is the default with which box comes, will (should) change your TV reception to 480p. But you should be able to tell the degradation in the signal and obviously the picture. TV does not do any upconversion. But I wanted to ask you about some other weird occurrence that is happening to my Verizon, I say Verizon because it happens on 2 HD TVs. If you look at the screen about an inch on the left hand side there is a very thin line that goes through the screen, looking almost like a mirror reflection. I can use screen adjustment and move the image to the left, reducing that line to null but it is still frustrating. I'm not too worried about it as it doesn't look like there is something wrong with the TV and since Verizon, at least in my area, goes 100% digital June 1st I'm hoping that will be fixed.
