Hi.

I have an eSata enclosure with a 300GB ATA drive inside - the enclosure supports ATA drives but includes an eSata external connection option, and I have an eSata cable available.

I’m thinking about hooking it up to my Time Warner SA8300HD (w/new Navigator SW). My SA8300HD does have the eSata port on the back. Does anyone have any info regarding whether that will work, or does the external drive have to be a SATA drive due to throughput issues, or other concerns?

The drive is a 300GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.8. Model ST3300831A – 7200 RPM, 8ms average read time. Detailed specs here: http://www.superwarehouse.com/Seagat...831A/ps/463851

Thanks for any advice/comments.
