Hi all. I'm using iRecord (now FireRecord) to capture MPEG-2 from the Firewire port on my Motorola cable box/DVR. In most cases I have no problem, but sometimes the stream simply hangs up when I try to play it in MPEG Streamclip, which reported about 50 data breaks in an hour-long program. Specifically, I captured some on-demand HD content that's unencrypted. The first episode plays fine in Streamclip. The next one hangs up after a few seconds of playback, and I've re-tried the capture about six times.

There's plenty of drive space, and the computer is an Intel MacBook Pro. The paltry ~14 mbps data rate should not be a problem, since I captured it with an ancient G4 PowerBook in the past.

Anybody see this problem and know of some MPEG repair tools that might be useful? I can't tell how much data is missing or why. Setting MPEG Streamclip's "repair data breaks" option didn't work.
