I currently pay only $20 for comcast per month but still het in HD; NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, and the CW using my QAM tuner on my Panasonic 50PZ700U.

If I get a Tivo HD, can I still get the same HD service through comcast?

Never mind. I did a search and I understand now that I can record the HD programming but it wall be manual programming which defeats the purpose of buying a Tivo

Yes you will still be able to receive the same clear QAM channels on the Tivo.

As for recording... I really don't know. I am guessing it has something to do with the way the channels are mapped and the guide data.

You might as well save yourself the hassle and get a cablecard for the Tivo. In my area (comcast) a cablecard only cost $1.50 a month.

A 'phile and his money are soon parted...
