I've been a very happy Replay user for quite a few years, but the unit has finally given out and I want to replace it. I'm thinking that my best bet would be a PC-based system w. a 250G drive. What are the best options? Is
Win Media Center the best way to go, along w. a TV tuner card for the PC? Are there any strong alternatives? It's important to me to use a system that
has the capacity for adding a Replay-like "commercial advance" capability, i.e. commercials are automatically skipped, rather than having to push a button to skip ahead 30 seconds.

I wanted to refresh this thread. I've seen many articles on the internet about how to convert PCs into a DVR. I want to know if this is possible with a laptop. I have an IBM T43.

Thank you.
