Here's my problem,I have a HD DVR Receiver on my bedroom tv , works fine-no problem there.

When I take it to my basement home theatre set up it will not play any channels. The guide works , and all functions of the remote ,but all it does is search for signal. All my recorded programs will play fine.

When I hook up a standard direct tv box in basement it works fine!

Any one have a possible solution to my problem?????

Thanks, Troy......

My guess is that the coax cable is not able to carry the HD signal. The reason could be RG59, distance etc.

Reality Based.

How many dishes do you have on the roof? I originally signed for DirecTV w/ the standard def package... once HD started rolling in, they added the new dish (3LNB or whatever it's called). They ran cables from that dish to my HD boxes. The SD boxes are still connected to the older style dish. The HD boxes MUST use the newer type of dish (3LNB or newer) to work. Without it, it will not find the proper satellites.

Do you know if you have just a single HD dish up there, or do you have multiple dishes?

Sony KDL-52XBR9 + Sony PS3 60gb + Denon AVR-988 + Harman Kardon HKTS-18
