Well,

The MOXI crashed for the second time in several weeks. The first time was when I used the internet webpage scheduling feature during a double recording session. The second time, I was watching a recorded program, when a timer started a recording. The MOXI crashed.

Add to that the two missing HD channels even after the cablecard was replaced, and the missing clear QAM channels (before cablecard).

I decided to return the MOXI.

It was briefly posted and then removed from Amazon. The price was $399.

One member called Moxi and says they confirmed the $399 price.

Cubit, sorry to hear about your issues however I had the opposite problem. I have both the tivo hd and the moxi and the tivo keeps crashing on me...

so far my moxi has been very stable.

I would do the same thing if I were in your shoes (I did, I returned the tivo).

Certainly unusual for the TiVo. i've owned around twenty tiVos during the last eight years and have never seen that problem. I currently own six TiVoHD units and three Series 3 units(the ones with the OLED screen) and they have never had a problem .

Looks like the mate should be released within the next couple of days.

$399 retail or $1000 for the moxi and the mate.

Why don't they have a tuner in the multiroom STB? Seems like a waste of money. I do not think people will buy an HDTV just for the MoxiMate without wanting to watch live TV.

A tuner (and CableCard support) in the Moxi Mate would significantly increase the cost of the design. It would also require another CableCard to support digital cable channels. It's not possible for a remote tuner to use the CableCard in another box.

They just dropped the price to $499, so I finally ordered one from Amazon.
