Hi
I am jsut outside of London Ontario Canada. The cutover here is still acouple of years away and not much over the air HD here yet except in major cites like Toronto

I recenly did a scan on my Hauppauge 1600 and did find (but only for one day) a couple of channels. The Hauppage called them channed 1191 and 1192..does anyone know what the number refers too. I did not see a UHF or VHF channel number that I would expect like 16-1 16-2 .

And if the frequecy number it does not look familiar .t
Thanks.

I'm guessing that's how they refer to 11-1 and 11-2, since OTA channel numbers only run from 2 to 69 (well, 2 to 51 in the US after the 52-69 channel space is reclaimed). I'm not in Ontario, but that'd be my initial guess.

Thanks for the suggestionis. I knew they were reclaiming some space, I thought it was the VHF but I sure Canada will follow the US and it will be the 52-69. Unfortunalty were still a couple of years away. It is suppose to happen sometime in 2011.

I did some research on the call letters...it was Sun TV. The website says the closest broadcast out of Hamilton on UHF 15 and it is pretty far away (88miles) for the small UHF loop was experitmenting with.

Maybe I had a skip singal but the signal strenghth was pretty strong accourding to the meter on the screen, it makes no sense to me where they get 1191...unless they where testing something locally on 19-1 or maybe like you said, at 11-1. I know there is a station in Hamilton on 11, but it has different call letters and is not SunTV.

It has been over 2 weeks since I saw the signal..I guess I will have to wait and see what happenes. Thanks again for the reply.
