I have a Scientific Atlanta HD8300 PVR and neeed to know whether the HDMI output transmits a DD 5.1 input signal as:

a) DD 5.1 bitstream

b) DD 5.1 PCM

c) DD 2.0 bitstream

d) DD 2.0 PCM

Thanks in advance...

Joel

DD5.1 bitstream is the default, but if you connect HDMI directly to your display, the SA DVR will send PCM 2.0 if your display requests it over EDID.

Appreciate that...confirmed this by testing a direct connection between the SA 8300 and my Meridian 861 pre/pro...seems as though the EDID commands in my RadianceXE are a little flakie...

Thanks so much...
