I got a "New" Scientific Atalanta 8300HDC from Charter Communications and I hardly use the thing (I use my TV as a 42" 1080P Computer Monitor A Majority of the time ) So the box sits idle with the power "off" and I was wondering why does the HDD spin up/down at random? I understand why it reboots occasionally (For Firmware upgrades) But why does the HDD do that? is it broken? or a bug (Which this POS Box has quite a few of) I know all of that can't be good for the hard drive. For the past week there has been nothing in the To record list and with the power off I assume it does not need to buffer the live TV feed. Any one else have insight about this I am ready to return the box because of this. Because the way I have everything setup on my small apt I am right next to the thing when I am at my computer and it is getting pretty anoying
Thanks
