Well I purchased a hauppauge HD recorder to record video games in HD onto my PC. My Dell monitor has HDMI input, a single yellow video input, S-video input, and Component input but the component input is just that with no stereo input. The Hauppauge uses component for recording in HD. What cable do I need in order to connect my hauppauge to my monitor and get sound? Is there a stereo component to DVI cable out there?

Thanks

Erm... you're talking about a Dell monitor with composite, S-video and component ins? You're not going to be able to record anything from those then, since they're *inputs* on the display, not outputs. Also, DVI doesn't carry audio (HDMI does, but it's a superset of DVI protocol). If you want to record from your game console, you need to connect the inputs on your Hauppauge capture box to the outputs on your *console*, not the inputs on your display device.
