Im in north america and would like a hdtv tuner card so i can record shows onto a hard drive. ideally id like one new or used for 50.

You can find some used HDTV tuner cards at eBay for about that price.

ATI has some models with a graphics card combined with an HD tuner plus PVR software, then you only need one card/slot for it all.

i already have a graphics card. im just wondering if tuner cards go in separate slots. my guess is from your post they do?

Most tuner cards I've had were PCMIA cards.

There are some that work that way as well... I'm just saying that my experience (and therefore the more detailed help I can give) is limited to PCMIA cards.
