I just got a DirecTV genie and was wondering if there was any way at all to get recorded content off of it.

After setting it up I noticed that it hosts a media server that various devices like my iPad and PS3 can detect. My PS3 can even detect folders and files on it, but can't read any of those files. I was wondering if there was any way to access that media server from a Windows PC.

I think the DirecTV Nomad is the only way. They do have a DirecTv2PC app but I was never able to get it to play content consistently. Best I could get was about 2 seconds of video and then would see an HDCP error even though I was playing on my laptop display.
