Hello Folks!

For anyone interested in the subject of DVR or PVR, have a look to this recent AVS thread: http://www.avsforum.com/t/1495406/wizarm-dvr-on-indiegogo
It is a clever design based on HDMI>MIPI. thumbs up

It's digitally smoking hot !

EDIT: Wizarm website and Indiegogo page

I think i somewhat answered in the other thread.

MIPI is the SoC (System on Chip) Camera interface.
That device is converting HDMI into camera feed and comes with a sweet board (impressive specs and numerous connectors)
The mobile industry have put a lot of effort in dozen MB pixel camera and smooth software handling for large bandwidth camera feed with zoom, rotate and others adjustment.
Using the wizarm PVR to record HDMI exactly in the same way as you record with your smartphone's camera is just amazing!
Given the facts that it should work with mostly all camera apps, you will have no problem to find software for scheduling, adding effects, etc..the android ecosystem is full of software for camera.
Huge potential !

Ok thank you, i didn't know this, very interesting indeed

Do you happen to know if that box can play flac 24-bit 96 Khz audio file ?

Hey I haven't heard from you for a while, are you still around ?

Btw, on their latest campaign update, they confirmed that the Wizarm is working well on PS4, nice wink.gif

So does this break HDCP then? PS4 patch hasn't been released yet to allow PS4 recording. Can this be used for TV recording via the HDMI input? What software is it using for capture? No price listed either...

3 weeks later, still few answers. Seems to be a Beta device with a kick starter project and projected price. Some questions unanswered from their webite and I doubt they are going to go on record as saying it breaks HDCP. Still waiting for answers to some questions...
