I recently bought a HomeWorx 150pvr to go with my OTA setup. I purchased a Hitachi hard drive that is in a Rosewill enclosure, turning it into an external hard drive. the problem is it spins down after about ten minutes of being idle. when a scheduled recording starts to record it fails because the Homeworx pvr doesn't detect the external hard drive. it starts to spin up but it's too late. the pvr has already cancelled the recording. when i press the record button on an currently  airing  show the hard drive powers up and starts to record after about a 10sec delay. i would like to know if there is a way to prevent this spinning down. i have tried to change the automatic power setting but all the programs are not able to change this on my Hitachi drive although they work for my seagate and WD drives. i know there are programs like keephdalive and nosleep but it is not connected to a computer. could an esata to usb cable allow the drive to respond faster? Help me please and sorry for the poor typing im using my wireless remote to type.

There is a owners thread for this in the HDTV Recorder section.
Your problem seems to be the interface. have you tried another enclosure?

Thanks for replying but I couldn't get it to stay awake. I ended up returning it.
