Error 27 - you cannot record in video mode Toshiba 670KU
I’m trying to assist a friend with the setup with his Toshiba 670KU to record and burn DVD’s.
A little background;
He had a rear projection TV, a cox cable box, and the 670 all connected and working.
He was able to record and burn DVD’s.
He recently bought a new tv (Samsung UN60JU7090F). This tv comes with
a stand-alone box that has 4 HDMI source connections and 1 HDMI out connection.
I believe this box is called a One Connect box. There is no documentation on
either the stand-alone box or the built in tv connections on the back of the tv.
He has a cable from the wall into the Cox cable box and a cable out of the Cox
box that goes to the 670 as in picture 1.
He then has an HDMI cable out of the 670 to port 2 on the stand-alone box.
He also has an HDMI cable out of the Cox box to port 1 of the stand-alone box.
There is one HDMI cable out of the stand-alone box (Port 1) that goes to the TV.
He says that when he attempts to record on the 670 he gets the following error:
“an error 27 showing and the message you cannot record in video mode”
He says he switched modes and he still gets the same message. He also says
that he is using the same DVD’s that he has always used.
I look at Picture 1 and I see Antenna out of the Cable box (Cisco) connected to
Antenna Out of the 670. Am I seeing this connection correctly?
If he is connected out to out (as I see in picture 1) will he be able to record and is
the above error message what he would get?
If I’m seeing picture 1 wrong, then why can’t he record on the 670?
I hope I’ve given enough info for diagnosis as the only real piece of equipment he has
Changed is the TV.
Thanks in advance for any assistance in resolving this issue.
