I am looking to devise an inexpensive way to multi-room my ReplayTV PVR system. I think the way to do this is with a combination of an RF modulator (to put the A/V output of the Replay on an unused OTA channel) and an RF remote with IR repeater.

Is this a reasonable thing to do? Can anyone recommend specific products (ie. model numbers and sources) that would do the trick? Any alternatives that I should be considering?

Thanks for any help. I am posting this to the PVR and distribution groups, not sure which would be best.

I just installed the AvCast system from CrossBarMedia. Just Google "rebroadcast ReplayTV", and you will see them as one of the advertisers on the right hand side.

It seems to work well over the existing cable that I had already running to 4 TVs from a central splitter, where the cable comes in the house. The only downside is finding a group of channels that you want to rebroadcast over. I chose the filter that blocks channels 75-80. Unfortunately, it also affects channel 74 which is Comedy Central.
