I have a SA Explorer 8000 via Time Warner Cable. I'm using the digital co-ax output into a Denon A/V Receiver. I'm getting poor quality sound on the digital channels. The sound seems to cut out at times and, occasionally, makes an awful "screeching" sound much like DSS does when it starts to loose a signal.

Any suggestions?

rusty,

Try the optical and see if its any better? The SA8000HD does have digital audio compatibility issues with a number of Dolby Digital receivers. Some SARA software versions (the software used on the box) are worse than others, when it comes to digital audio output.

There's always the analog stereo outputs, at least until TWC gets it fixed...

Thanks but I have the non-"HD" version and it doesn't have optical - I wish it did.

What DD Receivers are there compatibility issues with?

Other suggestions?
