I would be using this with a 36" 4:3 tube TV using Cable with no cable box:

The RF output is tuner pass through. What exactly does this mean?

If I watch TV with the ANT input going throught the RF input/output of the DVR, it's just like watching TV without the DVR present? And to view TIVO (or DVD), I would have to switch to another video input. Do I have this correct?

Are the Component outputs progressive only? My TV has Component inputs, but they are interlaced only.

I have read where the picture quality is sub-par:
Is this true when watching Live-TV?
Is it a real concern at the highest recording quality?

Thanks for any help!
