I was thinking about building my own PVR and with this intent I also wanted to use my HD TV (Samsung 27") as a monitor aswell for games music, recoring ad surfing.

Here is my question my HDTV has no DVI input therefore If I bought a computer with a DVI output on the card and I bought a DVI to component adapter would I get the clarity required to few text on this TV. I knwo when I use the RCA (video) out into the TV the quality is pretty lousy and I woulnd't be able to read text on the TV. I know my HD TV is pretty low end but I was hoping it may be capable of surfing the net and some everyday tasks including PVR, but I am unsure if the dvi to component (ATI) works well. Thanks.
