I just got the Motorola DCT6412 DVR. It has 2 USB ports and 2 Firewire ports on the back as well as an Ethernet port.

Has anyone tried to hook the DVR up to a computer to transfer or record DVDs from it? I'd like to try it but I don't know what type of connectors or software to use.

I'd like to hear about what configurations people have had success with with this box.

There is another thread named "how to record via 1394" there is also one dealing with the 6200 motorola series of PVR/DVR boxes.
The process for setting up is difficult at best and most channels now use a No record code refered to as 5c. but I was still able to watch the Steelers lose, Local broadcasts arent disabled.
Good luck
