I noticed that when watching HD channels on the 6412, there is a band of white light along the top edge of the screen. It blooms downwards and tapers off. It is only on the HD channels and disappears when I change to a different video source.

I seem to remember reading about this somewhere, Can any shed some light on what this problem is caused by?

Thanks.

OK, I just changed the output on the box from 1080i to 720p and the white glow completely disappeared. But does that mean I will be losing resolution on 1080i recorded programs?

I watched an episode of "Smart Gardening" and looked at the fine detail while switching between the video modes. I may be imagining things, but the 720p setting appreared to be a bit softer. Is there a significant decrease on 720p when viewed on a 26" CRT?
