Can you set up the factory remote to control the volume of an audio receiver?

I know it can control the TV volume but I want to use the Dolby Digital sound from my Panasonic SA-XR50 amp. With out using a couple of remotes :-)

Thanks
John

The 8300/8300HD series came with several different types of remote across the country so it may hinge on exactly which remote you have. Some people have said they were able to control their A/V receiver volume with theirs so maybe only some will do it or maybe all of em. Does your remote have an Audio mode/button? Do your instructions say anything about using it to control an A/V system?

nope mine has just "standard" controls; besides the Harmony what remote works very well with these STB's? I would want an easy to use A/B/C buttons and "list" type button :-)
