Hi,

I am not sure if this is the right forum for this Q. However, if so, pls. move to the right forum.

I am looking for a Cassette to PC recorder. More specifically, something like PlusDeck. Are there any other similar devices made by any other company?

Thanks.

Why not buy a plus deck? :) What exactly is it that you want to do? If you want to digitize cassette tapes I would use a stand-alone tape deck with line outs connected to the line-in on your sound card.

Unfortunately, I do not have any cassette player and have just over a dozen cassettes that I wanted to digitize/convert to mp3. Spending $120 for that seems a bit too much. I was looking for a similar, cheaper device.

You could buy a cheap new cassette player or a used one that works well.

Cassette players of decent quality are dime a dozzen in most pawn shops.

Grab one, connect it to you soundcard line in, record the tape to a .WAV file

Convert the wav to mp3 using your favorite mp3 encoding program.

A 'phile and his money are soon parted...
