My cable DVR has one input coax (no output) & one audio output (which goes directly to the TV). There are several video outputs & one serial cable output.

I have a Hitachi tv when I use the serial cable the picture is a green/gray color. I went back to composite cables for both video & audio, works fine.

When I tried to hookup my Sony RDR-GX7 DVD Recorder there is no way to the audio output from the DVR.

The higher channels have to come through the box. Is there a way to split the signals coming out of the box to connect the audio to the DVD Recorder & the TV.

Thanks in advance.

Why don't you list the video outputs?

I'm curious, how are you getting video from a serial port?
