i have a 6412 connected to my receiver via optical out, but the receiver is telling me it is getting a 2.0 signal from shows/movies broadcast in DD 5.1. i have checked everything, and get correct signals/displays from dvd's, so i don't think the receiver is the issue.

does anyone know what is going on here, or if there is some setting i am missing? i have cycled through the 6412 audio menu and studied the manual to no avail. any help or info would be much appreciated. thanks.

In the audio section make sure Dolby Digital is selected not Pulse modulated, also do you have it hooked thru a HDMI cable?, that connection has DD problems and if you read a few threads you'll see why.
