if i were to buy a direct tv tivo (this certin one is made by huges and is a series 1) would i have to subscribe to direct tv to use it?

it would be used with regular cable and analoge off air


sry if people are tired of this question or ones like it

Directv Tivos ONLY work with Directv, so your plan will not work. If you want a Tivo, it must be a standalone model.
