I am new here, so apologies if this has been asked ever.
I subscribe to Charter Communications and have their Digital DVR (Non HD), apparently last week they uploaded some copy protection that now bars me from recording any movies to my DVD recorder, including non-premium movies. I'm not happy about this, but still want to be able to record movies to my DVD burner.
Is there another DVR that would allow me to do this?

Did you have to buy their equipment or do you just use it until you don't want the service anymore? I know that I have satellite through Directv and have the Directivo and i have a DVR recorder. Just the Tivo itself i can record 2 things at a time and watch something that i have already recorded at the same time. I know some companies let you use the equipment where as i paid 50 dollars for my tivo for a 100 hours of record time and i pay 4.99 a month for the tivo service, just depends on if your preferences of whether you want to change to someoen else. Alot of times when you join Directv they have specials where you can get the tivo for next to nothing. Good luck
