At my age, I am not the AV whizkid, just a "shadetree Mr. Fix It".
Friend of mine has a Philips CDR600 audio cd recorder. He gets a NO DISC message when trying to play ANY CD in it. I tried a store bought CD and no matter what the setting - 3 source options : optical, digital or analog - there is a NO DISC message. If it won't PLAY, it won't RECORD.
I tried cleaning the LASER and same thing.
I have the cover off and when I close the door with a CD in it, it SPINS UP and then stops in about 3 seconds.
Before this goes to the landfill, ANY info on what causes this is appreciated ?
Is there any kind of a simple fix ?
Laser problems ?
I am assuming this is the right forum .
TIA
