Yesterday, we received a software update from Comcast, and it isn't much better than it was before. But now, I can't get closed-captioning on certain channels, and I was getting it before. I also have 2 regular digital boxes, and it works fine on those. I even put one of them in place of the DVR, and it worked. Any suggestions?

On the DVR, it's 16.20. It works fine on the regular digital boxes. I have the 6412, and I'm thinking of replacing it with a 3416. I don't know if it will resolve the problem, but it may. Do you know if it will do any good?

I've got 16.20 as well. Closed Captions still working fine on HDMI outputs. (No Closed Captions on component outputs, though -- I believe its always been that way.)

I use RCA cables, and as I said, it's only on certain channels. I believe they're the higher frequency channels. Those channels include:

220 NickToons
223 Noggin/The N
228 Nick Too
272 MTV Hits
273 MTV2
275 Vh-1 Soul
276 CMT Pure Country
277 Vh-1 Classic
280 MTV Jams
281 Logo

Those are the ones the CC doesn't work on. Maybe they broadcast on a different frequency in your area.
