I have an rampaging wife on my hands. I "stole" her cable company-supplied Motorola DVR from the bedroom and put it in a new room downstairs. Now she can't record exercise programs on public TV.
I don't want to rent another PVR from the cable company. In a year's time it's a lot of dough. All I need is a basic PVR that can tune and record classic analog cable channels. What I'd like to do is go to eBay and buy a basic PVR model that has been well-cared for buy being sold due to upgrade, etc. Problem is, I don't know what older models of, say, TiVo I should look for to get a combination of decent operation, storage time, and low price on the used market. I don't know how low to expect but I am thinking around $50.
I'd appreciate any knowledgeable recommendations out there.
