Before I got the newer Yamaha V2700 receiver (HDMI ver 1.2a), I had the 6416 going through a Gefen 2X HDMI switcher, and it worked just fine. But now trying to use the HDMI through the V22700, I would get a screen for a moment (though in a pastel bluish tint), and then the screen would go blank. Once I did get an error message flash on the screen about not able to work through repeaters??? Now when I plug it directly into the HDMI 2 port of my new Panasonic 58PZ700U plasma, it works fine.

Has anyone gotten this to work through their receiver? Is the unit defective? From the looks of the box that the Time Warner tech brought in, it is NOT a brand new unit, but a used one.

ARGH!!!!!!!!!! Such a shame When I was in CA, I had the new DirecTV HR20-700 HD DVR, it was brand new too, and though I did not like the new menu (prefer the TIVO much better on the HR10-250), the picture was awesome! And DTV had way more HD channels than TW does, GRRRRRRRRRRR. But when I moved to Texas, to an apartment, they won't allow any dishes to be bolted to the building, and my balcony had a cover over it that the tech said he could not place the larger 5LNB dish on cause of obstrucion of signal. So I am cursed with having to have only TW. Unless the new AT&T U-verse is better? I now have a choice for that . . . .

Rocky,

I have both of the same units, and have great results by outputting component into the Yammi, then HDMI to the HDTV. I have been told that you won't have good results switching HDMI thru most receivers.

I returned the V2700 last week and just got the new Onkyo 805 with HDMI 1.3a, and the 6416 works just fine through it! Problem solved

Give the Yamaha another chance! There can't be anything as good as the V2700 for auto-calibration of acoustics, and nothing better for music and movies!
