Hi, quickie here. I'm recording a program tonight that I would like to be able to put on DVD later using a DVD recorder, and I will be pushing it out of the DVR to the recorder through composite. What will happen when I play back an HD program and output it through the composite port? Will it shrink down and maintain the 16x9? Will it stretch? Or will it simply not work?

Thanks!!

From what I recall, the Motorola boxes letterbox HD content that is output through composite and s-video.

I don't remember how the DCT-3416 handled it, but note that my TiVo S3 handles composite and s-video output differently.

My Motorola DTC6200 would output a letter boxed picture on the composite video when watching an HD channel.

A 'phile and his money are soon parted...
