I had an external drive on my SA8300HD for two years that died. I just bought another drive - same one, and a Rosewill RX353 Enclosure. I can't seem to get this to work. I keep getting an error telling me to check the cable/power connections. I can hook it up to my PC with the USB and it works. I am not sure if it has to do with the esata cable??? I am getting really frustrated. The dive is a Maxtor Maxline III 300 GB. Any help would be great!!!

Are you connecting it with eSATA? The SA8300HD does not support USB drives.

Have you tried pulling the power on the SA8300HD with the new drive connected via eSATA?

Definitely using my esata cable that came with the enclosure. When I pull the power when its hooked up, the dvr just sits there and gets stuck rebooting...
