Wow, second post almost as good as the first. (It's funny how you simpletons confuse capitalism, and conversely socialism, with political parties.)

And your third post is about the "Broadway" channel. I won't even bother asking about you... Lemme guess - favorite actress is 'Barbra Streisand' or 'Judy Garland'?

Not that there's anything wrong with that.....

I've gotta go with AbMagFab on this, no need to bring politics into this.

I'm sorry - I come from an intense, political Board and I guess it hasn't worn off yet. I don't know, there was just something so "Republican" about AbMag's original response, I just couldn't resist.

Anyway - apologies for the blatant hijack. Back to business.

Actually I DO!!! The previous comment obviously made sense. Being this is something "odd" (rational thought) the only solution you could draw from it is his comment must be an opposing view. I guess while we're at the talk of the merge of sirius and xm, I guess the government should buy it, run it just like fannie, freddie, social security, medicare, and the VA hospitals so we can all enjoy censor free no commercial interruption music stations for ~a week before it's run into the ground.

Enjoy your single term.

That's it, no more politics. 5 years I've been on this forum and never have I got into a political discussion and I hope it's longer till the next one. I like to keep my girlfriend (Home theater) seperate from my wife (politics).

Now, all that would of the way, PDMike, I have several liberal friends who I can get along with in other areas. I think I can do the same with you when it comes to audio video stuff. What do you say? Handshake? (at least until next election)

Anyway, no complaints here. I'm still waiting for the A La Carte radio. $6 for ~30 music channels plus a few news/talk channels sounds like a good deal to me.

I'm glad the merger happened because NO WAY was I going to pay $13 a month when I can get ~15 stations free locally. But $6? That's reasonable.

Well listen to the 80s at 8 on Saturday mornings and relive the good old days...
They also have Casey on Sunday. Now I wouldn't mind listening to those again. I listened to Casey a lot in the early 80s.

Agreed. I've had XM for almost 2 years, and the changes are fantastic. Double the rock choices and increased choices in other genres like talk. I guess it's a generation gap thing (I'm 43), but rather than complain, I'd write to express my appreciation for the great changes.

You should start a thread:

Happy about the changes? Let you voice be heard.

Having a poll might prove interesting:

1. Had XM - Happy with changes

2. Had XM - Unhappy with changes

3. Had Sirius - Happy with changes

4. Had Sirius - Unhappy with changes

5. What changes?

Something like that.

BoneYard is essentially based on "1980's Arena Hard Rock". That being said, it is a fairly wide spectrum. Everything from rock like VH to metal veined Metallica type stuff, with a bunch of the heavier hair/glam bands peppered in for good measure. They also feature a lot of obsucre acts that might be considered to be more 70's stuff, but fall into that hard/heavy genre; bands that most people would say "wow, I totally forgot about them!". Basically, if you were a fan of 80's "heavy" music you will like it; I listen to it every night while cooking dinner. The cool thing is that they play both the "classic" cuts from the bands, and occasionally "new releases" from the guys whos careers would are now obscure; very cool becuase they would otherwise not get any airplay for the new stuff now. On Mondays they have the "Eddie Trunk Live" show, which is really great.

I hope that helps, let me know if youhave any questions.

Of course. I do apologize for infusing politics here. Inappropriate.

I am not happy either!! We were told that XM/Sirius merger would not affect us in Canada but guess what, it did!! They have merged some of the country channels and we have lost the best one on XM (channel 10 called America) but the stupid roadhouse from Sirius who plays nothing but garbage! Why could they leave all the channels available and give the choice to the people as to what we wanted to listen! They have just lost another customer...make that alot more customers!

I will be calling and complaining thats for sure....

Couple of annoying things (I am a long-time XM subscriber):

Loss of Fine Tuning

VOX replaced by old MET broadcasts - I really enjoyed the live opera broadcasts from various theaters around the world like Covennt Garden, La Scala, Chicago, L.A., Houston, Bayreuth. Now it's nothing but MET stuff.

I am especially annoyed by the lack of an a la carte option. The offer of an a la carte option was an integral part of the FCC's approval of the merger. I called the other day to get it and they said there was no such option available. I asked to cancel and wound up getting the $77/year plan. Problem solved.

I posted here a few pages back about being unhappy with the censorship on the hip hop channels since the merger. Got a response email today from Jon Zellner:

Thank you for your email. Censorship is an important issue to us as a company. Over the years we have offered a home for free speech to musicians, DJs, athletes, and talk hosts – and that heritage continues today.

Three channels on our services -- Sirius Hits 1, XM 20 on 20 and The Heat -- are listened to by a wide range of ages, including children. As a result, we play the versions of certain songs that have been created, approved, and provided to Sirius XM by the label and artist.

Now, for Hot Jamz listeners, whose new radio home is The Heat, this is a change. After considering feedback from XM subscribers who listened to The Heat, we felt that it was important to maintain an R&B Hits channel that families could feel comfortable with. Accordingly, we have substituted the version of certain songs on that channel that have been created, approved, and provided by the label and artist.

All other Sirius XM music channels play the fully uncensored versions of songs in their libraries.

Thank you again for your email and feedback; it helps to ensure we’re providing our subscribers with the best possible service.

Best regards,

Jon

I listen to every minute of every show and he never said Sirius told him to clean up his act. He was responding to some listener emails complaining that he was cursing too much and he couldn't listen at work.

That's not the case as of late this afternoon. Lithium 24 is still censored. Are any of the other channels that were censored now not?

I'm disappointed by the loss of the only 3 Sirius channels I listened to. I'm stunned that it's such a clean sweep.

Left of center

The beat

Punk channel

I really think that the variety they had previously was a strength, now they seem to really emphasize rock to such a degree that my free local radio stations aren't too far off.
