I've had XM in my truck for 5 yrs and like it.

I got a new Mustang in April that came with Sirius free for 6 months and I like that. The free period expires soon.

Do either XM or Sirius have discounts for multiple radios owned by same person? XM used to, but it didn't apply to me. I can't find anything on the Sirius site.

I'm thinking I'd switch the truck over to a portable Sirius receiver if I could save 50% on the truck. So are there discounts for multiple receivers or not?

Yes they both do, but the discount only applies with the same type equipment..

So in your case to get a multiple radio discount on your XM account you will have to put an XM radio in you Mustang. Or if you want to keep Sirius in the Mustang then you have to put Sirius in your truck.

If you want to keep things the way they are then you will have to pay full price for both radios. I think that's $12.95 per radio plus the RIAA 'fee' of $1.97 per radio. Price for a second radio isn't the 50% savings you want...$9.99 for a multiple radio, plus about $1 for the RIAA fee.

Of course you can also call and threatened to cancel and see if you get a deal.

Here's XM prices... I'm sure Sirius's are the same..

Thx for the quick reply.
I understand you can't have 1 XM + 1 Sirius and expect a discount.
But I think they've discontinued ALL multi-radio discounts.
The link you posted only talks about multi-year discounts.
But I think I'll downgrade to the music-only plan if I stay on...

On my account the 2nd radio I just added a month or so ago for one of my kids is listed as 'multi-radio'.

But on their price list page as you said they don't have multi listed anymore. Probably because the $9.99 'plans' are the same price as a multi-radio would be..$9.99...Different names, but basically the same deal.

I have a friend who did just that with his Sirius Lifetime sub due to his radio going dead. They transferred his sub to his new radio with no fee.

"Manuals? What manuals? We don't need no stinkin' manuals!!"

I have since learned that you can *usually* do that just once but if it's more than that they will ding you a fee, like $15 or so. It may be cheaper to get an additional sub if you do this often.
