I have a lifetime Sirius subscription. If I change cars, I would have to pay a 75 dollar change fee and that is assuming I even find a car with preinstalled Sirius instead of using some clumsy portable unit. Maybe if Sirius made their subscription more flexible, I wouldn't feel that bad about the potential problem in the future. Maybe it would encourage more people to buy more monthly subscriptions too because 15 bucks a month or more is a lot to pay for radio.

1) I rent cars a lot with expired sirius free subscriptions(All those Ford Fusions).
How about letting travelers "carry" their subscription with them by calling in when you rent a car and have the radio activate temporarily? (or why not even make a deal to have satellite subscriptions cheap as hell for rental companies as it is good promotion).
2) Online subscriptions should be free. I get it for COMCAST cable which letsw me watch my shows when I am not at home. Why not here? OK maybe you can't carry all stations for free for online distribution as that might clash with some rightsholders, but work out something.
3) Additional radio subscriptions under the same name for a much cheaper rate.

Any other ideas that you care for?

Effective Jan of 2012, LIFETIME subscription is not available anymore because of that issue.usually transfer fee is waive if subscribers can fax document/police report or call from a valid technician or shop that the radio is broken or stolen.

#3. How much cheaper? Last I checked it was $6.99/month for additional units.

How can they change the terms of the lifetime contract? I was told that there is a cutoff date from 4 or 5 years ago . Before that date(I fall into that range), you get to transfer your radio to a new car if you buy a new one. After that date, no transfer.
