I have read some old articles on Sirius broadcasting Dolby Pro Logic II compatible surround sound. But I don't see any current news or mention of it at all anywhere. Not even on Sirius' own website. I would think that they would advertise and promote this enhancement if they really are doing it.

Is there any listing of what channels Sirius is broadcasting in surround sound?
Or did this technology flop and so that is why I don't see any mention of it today?

Anyone know?

I know that XM Radio has Surround Sound channels but it requires you buy a new compatible XM tuner to decode it.

Sirius supposedly was going to offer a less elaborate surround sound approach using Dolby ProLogic II encoding/decoding, thus not needing to buy or upgrade to new radio equipments. Just feed it into already existing Home Theater receivers/amps and it will decode the Dolby ProLogic II surround information.

Granted it is not as nice as true 5.1, 6.1 nor 7.1 surround sound technologies, but at least it has some surround soundness... so to speak.

I think I did hear a Sirius advertisement/commercial on Sirius radio Classical Pops channel mentioning something about broadcasting in Sirius HD surround sound... but I forget if I was dreaming or was I listening to XM Radio station (which I also subscribe to). Not a biggie for me, I am just curious. If they have it, I want to experience what it sounds like to see the quality of it (channel separation, ambience effect/illusion, etc.).
