This is only applicable as an alternate IF we can't get Wish #11, a coded remote.

This relates to the current problem for multiple Mag users... there are a LOT of them... who want to operate just ONE unit in their stack, and the fact that pressing the PLAY button turns all units ON. You can't play your recordings, delete them when viewed, etc. if ALL the units are on... you'll be playing titles everywhere and deleting titles everywhere.

If the PLAY button did NOT turn units on, then the user could manually turn a single unit on and operate that unit for normal playback, title delete, Setup, etc. without affecting all the other units at the same time.

One or more users of non-Harmony universal remotes object to losing the Play-ON function and, for various reasons, others simply don't want any changes to the power-on ops.

The Open/Close button also turns all units on, but it's not as widely used as the PLAY button, so its negative effects can be controlled if a user remembers not to press that button.

Has Funai indicated that there's NO chance of them making the machines multi-code, which would be a simpler solution?
