The type of box you usually buy a movie in...

Usually they only hold two discs and are a half inch thick. Sometimes you can buy them in stores. Sometimes they're super-thin (maybe 1/4 inch), sometimes much thicker and able to hold a lot of DVDs.

Sometimes you can find the half inch ones that'll hold five or six discs, tho', and they even have clips to hold some type of list or booklet inside.

Does anyone know of a source where I can buy six or eight disc clamshells that have a literature clip? Preferably the half inch type, but in a pinch thicker will do.

It's really the number of discs and the clip that are important.

I've looked all over and can't find any with both features. Either they hold a lot, but have no clip, or have a clip but only hold like three discs.

I know they're made, because I've bought DVD sets that have both features, even coming in the half inch size, surprisingly.

Can't believe they were specially made only for TV releases. They've got to be out there for the average Joe too.

Anyone?

SuperMediaStore has a wide selection of cases, from 7mm to 27mm or larger, and 2-8 (or more) disc varieties within those widths.

The problem is not finding the prodiict, as DigaDo has listed some, the problem is, finding the quantity you are requesting of only six or eight. The quantity these are usually available in is twenty or more. If you don't mind having a bunch of extra ones hanging about waiting for your next project then you're good. Of course, we're only talking about $13.

The S4T and SMS illustrations show the literature clip.

The "six or eight" isn't the number of cases.

It's the number of DVDs each case can hold.

I've yet to check out the links, but appreciate the help given.

Now let's see what we can find...

Notice that the six or eight discs are stacked up on the center spindle, not on separate "pages."

Yes, I did notice the "stacking" feature, which I don't know if I'd prefer. But the OP specifically listed 2 "must-have" criteria, and stacking or not stacking was not on the radar.

My local library uses those "stacking" cases, they seem to work quite well IMO. I might think an advantage for home use would be you could put the next DVD to watch on the top of the stack. Not sure about everyone else but at any given time I've got several sets going in various stages of watching. It's one reason I really like my Sony players with multi disc resume, which remember exactly where I left off.

Yeah, I noticed that.

I do prefer the "page" method, and wonder if the DVDs could be damaged by constantly removing the whole stack, say to get the one on the bottom.

They do sell these things, tho' (and once in a while I've stacked two in a ONE disc box myself). These stacking boxes must work.

I appreciate the link, Dig, as mentioned above.

These may well fill my need.

You didn't say anything about the cases not being ugly.
