I bought a Magnavox ZV427MG9 VHS/DVD Recorder (no tuner) and am going to records some old VHS tapes to DVD+R. Im wondering will there be any issue, after I record to DVD, of me viewing the DVD on my computer dvd drive? Im not sure if it will depend on the type of DVD used or not. I have new Verbatim DVD+R type and I also have some new Memorex DVD+R and DVD+RW as well. Is there anything I need to do special while recording to the DVD that will allow me to view this recorded DVD on my computer? In other words, after I record to DVD, will I still be able to view this DVD on my computer AND a different DVD player? Thank you ahead of time.

Just make sure you finalize +R, -R and -RW discs for playing elsewhere (+RW don't need Finalize), and make sure your computer drive plays +R/RW discs. If built since 2004-2005, it should. Should be an item in specs ("playable discs" or media).

Great, thank you for the info. Yes, my computer is 2-3 years old and should have no issues playing the finalized recorded DVD. Thanks again!
