If you make a few more posts the restrictions go away. I do NOT recommend you post your e-mail address, or telephone number. It is a "relatively dangerous" thing to do.

Mike is usually very good about these things. Just yesterday I got a machine back from him, and it's running like it's brand new, not eight years old! I like the recorder, a lot, so it was definitely worth the cost of the repair. If it weren't for me being in CA and Mike being in CT, it would also be worth the price of shipping. That cross country, almost 2900 miles, gets a bit pricey.

Mike,

I attempted to send a pm to you. I am not sure if it went through. I am new to the forums and have not posted my required 15 posts to allow access to all members. Anyway, I have read nothing but good things about your services and I am hoping to acquire your assistance on my DMR-EH75V.

Hi Mike,

I only have 1 post and am unable to send you a PM. I have a Panasonic EZ28 DVD recorder that has stopped working, flashing rolling zeros along the display when I try to turn on the unit. It also displayed the dreaded U61 error code before this issue.

When you have a chance, please send me a PM so I can reply with a detailed explanation of the problem with a request for your repair services.

Thanks,
Burton

In the last couple of weeks I've had a number of problems with my unit. The main problem is that it freezes, typically when I'm watching something on the HDD. It then gets an error and reboots. mickinct, an you help me? If so, please send me a PM with contact info. I tried to send a PM, but the forum won't let me because I haven't posted enough as I just joined.

I have a Panasonic DMR EZ27 that has stopped working. I have tried cleaning the hub as suggested in another thread but it did not work. I am under the impression that the drive is bad...but what do I know. As this is my first time ever posting on a forum I am unable to set a message to mickinct who seems to be the guy to talk to. If you happen to read this mickinct please send me a message.

Cool Thanks!

Just wanted to give a shoutout to MICKINCT who helped me with my EH55 model a few months ago. I'm back to recording discs, with much higher res, and can't overstate what a great job he did!

Thanks again.

Great ole thread!!
I'll be attempting a repair on a DMRES15 today with the "Please Wait" message staying on and nothing happening. I've read all 84 posts and read about the bulging / leaking caps (I am an electronic tech) but the thread slightly wanders from different error messages on the display to several different Panasonic models. Did anyone have a definitive good repair on the 15 model and which caps were at fault? I have no bulging/leaking caps. I should re-read all the posts again but the wife will be home in 3 hours and I would like to have this (her) DVR repaired by then. I am presently "in-between" jobs (friggin corp downsizing) and not only do I have this to do but now I'm pulling Mr Mom duties too which means the house has to be cleaned, dishes washed etc :/ blaugh ..
Thanks in advance all, and nice to be here :]
-Steve
PS- I do have a have a "spare" DMRES-15 which got mis-aligned (the tray ejected and fell apart-I could not seem to get it re-aligned correctly ) so I may take the good drive from this one and put it in that one.. that should work, right?
Thx !

A quick swap of the DVD Drives between DMR-ES15 models is practical in your situation.

I have a Panasonic DMR-E85H that simply has no power. If checked connections and it's plugged up but no power. Hoping I can contact MKINCT about this. I'm a newbie but I've been lurking on the site for quite a while.

Thanks DigaDo!! Will check out those threads!
The unit is working now although slightly flaky but seems that it has built-in "AI" heh to learn when the tray is open or closed, I had to cycle power several times with the tray stuck open & halfway open and even got a couple of U61 errors and other strange behavior but after a few days everything seemed to smooth out on its own. I can't really say that I've ever seen electronic equipment behave this way .. anyway, all is good for now,.. the wifey has the DMR-ES18 though because it is a lot newer and runs well. Thanks a lot for your response. I may even be able to get this old second -15 back up and running thanks to the threads that you posted.
-Cheers and have a good one !!
