I came across this on ebay and thought "wow". It doesn't mention having a timer feature but considering it's a portable DVD player with game support (likely .nes), records TV and has divx support I'm taking that as a given.

Could we ever see anything even remotely like this in North America?

Great little unit!
I assume that the built in digital tuner would not work on U.S. systems. Otherwise it would be extremely tempting.

Sadly not. Otherwise I would have been researching and making sure it had a timer record feature. If it did then it would have been ordered.
