I always got a kick of that running gag they had going on 'Beaver', where Wally would say something like, "Gee, Beav - dad's really gonna beat the heck out of you good".

Also, I'll never forget one of the most unintentionally hilarious Dragnet episodes ever filmed (yes, even for that show) - "The LSD Story" (a.k.a."Blue Boy" - first color episode of the show ever broadcast). I keep telling myself that one of these days I'm going to get it recorded.

Watching that ep can be dangerous. It can make you want to eat the bark off trees, and some tree bark is poisonous. eek.gif

For those of you who still like to record and watch current HDTV shows, this is a real fun site to keep track of. They do it yearly at this time as the season ends. It's updated as news and decisions come in -- check it out:
TV.com -- What's Renewed, What's Canceled, and What's Still In Between? (2013 Edition)

I record and collect lots of new series for watching in the summer. This list is great because if I find that a new series I've collected has been canceled after season 1, I flush it off the server and never waste the time watching it. Vegas, Deception and Golden Boy were three recent casualties that got flushed from the server. Also knowing what collected shows have definitely made it to season 2 -- like Arrow, Chicago Fire and Revolution -- lets me put them high on the summer watch list.

They also do an annual Fall "Dead List" in which a panel of reviewers offer their predictions as to which new shows will be canceled first.

Bummer, Body of Proof looks to be canceled frown.gif while I was luke warm with it to begin with the wife liked it so we kept watching it, needless to say it grew on me and it will be missed.
I liked and recoded CSI NY but oh well guess it's time has come, wonder how long regular CSI can hand in there.....been recording that since day one too.
Golden Boy, tried it but 3 episodes was all I could take, it won't be missed in this household. How Last Resort mad it as long as it did is beyond me, Malibu Country was cute but oh well, yahoo! Nikita made it, it's a real guilty pleasure along with Oliver in Arrow(I've now got 3 programs I regularly record on The young peoples channel(CW)!

I don't mind so much if I start watching something only to have it cancelled, I figure it was good TV while it lasted, more than I can say about the vast majority of whats on TV. A feature I just love on my Tivo is it's ability to find and automatically record pilot series. It's always the first thing I watch and if I like it I create a season pass, if I hate it I never watch it again, if I'm on the bubble I watch it high priority for a few weeks(like with Golden Boy) and it grows on me I create a season pass but if I tire of it I stop recording it. I generally like to give a show at least a few episodes to gain ground but some programs I have a hard time even making it though the pilot(the New Normal was one such show).

Thanks for the link Kelson, I've bookmarked it smile.gif

We just don't have time to watch everything we do like, let alone waste time watching (and getting invested in) something that has no future. I remember how frustrated I was when FireFly got an early cancellation. Unfortunately, live sports are not something you can collect for later viewing -- at the most I time-shift them a couple hours so we can jump through the commercials and half-time chatter. We time-shifted the SuperBowl and were able to skip over the power failure. Anyway, watching sports usually means you don't have time to watch something else that is recorded so stuff backs up. A lot of season finales are this week and next, but I find we are 3-4 episodes back on most of our shows. I really like Once Upon A Time and Grimm (both returning) but have not had time to watch a single episode this season, yet -- another pair for the Summer. Then there are all the seasons of cable series I have on the servers. I read MarkB49's post about the return of 24 -- crap, I still have the last three seasons of 24 on the server waiting to be watched -- I still haven't seen the last season of LOST and the last 4 seasons of Fringe -- I'm 4 episodes in the last season of Heros and looking to finish the series by June. Thank God HDD are cheap.

Bummer about CSI-NY getting the boot.mad.gif I kinda suspected this because CBS ended the season way too early. The last few years the only dramas I watch (time-shift, not archive) are the 3 CSI series and Hawaii Five-0. Out of the 3 CSI series Miami was my favorite than New York than Las Vegas. CBS screwed with CSI Miami playing it or trying to play it later then slotted after CBS football – great way to kill a show mad.gif. Glad the original CSI and Five-0 are still alive. Haven’t watched a sit-com in years. For watching / time-shifting I pretty well stick with OTA channel news and news mags such as 60-minutes and on cable channels I stick with the documentary channels such as Discovery, History, Nat Geo. PBS is good for documentaries but not much concerts lately. Oh and I archive rock ‘n’ roll and blues concerts of-course but at the slow rate they get played on TV my DVD recorder should last another ten years.

EDIT:
I’m a big fan of Formula 1 and time-shift it by a few hrs.

I've already setup 2 manual events on my Tivo, manual because it hasn't been added. High Anxiety and Silent Movie, 2 classic Mel Brooks movies airing on Memorial Day.
The channel is currently broadcasting previews of movies it will carry and I sure hope Tivo/Tribune ads this channel in a hurry, lots I'd like to record with one click smile.gif

Sea Hunt- THIS TV seems to show a block of 50 shows, virtually every one measures ~26 minutes, seem to be complete shows.

Sgt Bilko- just started recently, these are cut pretty badly, most are about 22 min 45-50 sec. Still great to see old Phil Silvers in action!

Addams Family- just started today, 2 programs, a bit over 25 min each. 1 bad cut in mid show on each.

Outer Limits- on THIS TV, a bit over 51 min each so far.

FWIW- my impressions are that the old shows on THIS are cut up much less than the ones on METV- of course I only get METV for a few hours late at night, beginning anywhere from 1 to 3 AM, ending from 4 to 5:30 am., and only since mid-September. We may get a full-time METV station in Jan '14.

THIS TV
Has been here in Atlanta from 2009.ch.32 has rotated it's channel.
THIS was on 32.2. I recorded the Thief movie and The Dogs of war.
Both movies looked good.
In 2010 ch.32 built up to 10 sub channels and 10 radio channels.
Nothing really looks good over there now.
THIS was on 32.9 No signal right now.
THIS and METV were owned by the same company.
Now Antenna and THIS are related..........I think lol.

We still have RTV on 32.2.
It was on 2.2 in 2008 known then as RTN.
All the best shows they had were split between METV-Antenna and Cozi tv.

I hope in Atlanta THIS tv will get a better channel like CBS 46 or UPN 69.
Both have no active sub channels.
