If i have a VHS player that can only play a NTSC 3.58 tape converted to NTSC 4.43 (not keep it at its native 3.58mhz) what format DVD will be made from that signal if fed into a DVD recorder assuming it can accept a NTSC 4.43 signal through an AV input? Will it make a proper NTSC 3.58 standard disc?

Keep in mind that NTSC 4.43 is not PAL. The sub carrier frequency is the same as PAL because of the 625/50 frame structure. But PAL is a different encoding standard and while some parts are the same such as the 0/90 degree modulation axis, it is not compatible with NTSC due to it's carrier phase reversal every other line.

So are you saying it would make a PAL DVD and not a NTSC DVD?
