helps me get to sleep it works fairly well and is better then being drugged up on sleeping pills. as they leave me tired and hungover the next day

Mickinct, Still repairing in 2016?

Mickinct is obviously the one to repair my 2006 Panasonic DMR-EH55 that suddenly stopped reading all discs despite cleaning of the lens and spindle. Does anyone know if he still is repairing these and are parts such as the laser available? I can't PM him since I don't have enough posts yet.

I would like to reach mickinct also regarding repair of my Panasonic DVD recorder, EZ27. I just started getting "no read" error messages.

How can I reach him? Thanks!

I am based in the UK and was hoping to buy an LSI chipset dvd recorder from the US Ebay and have it sent directly for repair in the US before coming to me. There seems a dearth of the JVC machines, but I notice the Panasonic ES-20 seems to be easily available in various conditions, often with error messages. I tried to PM mickinct, but apparently I need 15 or more posts to do that, and I would appreciate any further advice. Many thanks for any help.

Update on my Panasonic EZ48V that wouldn't record or play DVD's: I found a local shop that works on them. They first tried to clean and adjust the track of the laser. Didn't help. They they upgraded the software which resulted in intermittent recordings. They say the laser unit needs to be replaced and they are only available from Panasonic. He felt the cost of $230 for the replacement was too high and he's looking for cheaper alternates.

I thought you went with mickinct. he does good work. back when I had a problem, I was looking around at some other dvd recorders but they didn't seem to fully stack up with my current one so I just paid the cost to keep it going. I totally understand if you decide to move on though. good luck.

I didn't want to incur the cost of shipping two ways across country and experience the delays in shipping during the holidays. So I went local. It's not fixed yet, so mickinct still may be an option.
